Wednesday, November 1, 2023 | | Fellow Patriot, All around us it seems as though the political wheels are falling off. But there are some stories that give us relief. That show us: 'No, it isn't just me. Other people are seeing this too.' And not only that, but good, patriotic people are streaming into the breach to try to hold the line and drive the darkness back. These stories are important. It's critical that everyday we see that yes: there is a path back. Yes, the American people are winning, slowly, frustratingly perhaps but surely, people are snapping out of it. Let's get into it... | | In A Corrupt System The Modest Man Is The Enemy | | The story of American politics in 2023 is one of baffling contradictions, but the moral divide couldn't be more clear-cut. House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY) laid down detailed allegations against President Joe Biden and his family accusing them of "funneling millions of dollars from a company linked to the Chinese Community Party through "shady" companies, with some of that money ultimately ending up in Biden's personal bank account," as reported by Trending Poltics' Mark Steffen. A message from Hunter Biden seems to reveal the disgraced First-son pretty blatantly wielding his father's influence and shaking down a CCP-owned company for $10 million. The same day, we hear about left-leaning outlets and pundits outwardly criticizing the new Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-LA) for living too modestly. Previous Speakers and dozens of Congress members and Senators like Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) have been mired in fairly obvious corruption and insider trading for decades with zero consequences. It's an issue so endemic that corruption in Congress, where legislators enter as either middle-class or top 30% earners and promply become multi-millionaires, is just assumed. And when someone doesn't fit that mold, they're considered a dangerous outlier. The Daily Beast spoke with Jordan Libowitz, communications director for watchdog group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics who argued that Johnson and his family living in modest terms could be seen as a vulnerability to exploit. "One of the reasons we have these financial disclosures is to know whether politicians are having financial difficulties—which could make them ripe for influence buying," Libowitz said. The fact that Johnson who took office in 2017, hasn't managed to enrich himself into a millionaire in the six years he's sat in Congress is scary to Washington insiders. Perhaps this is similar to how the only thing that truly scares a corrupt police officer is an honest one. As Detective Flass told Jim Gordon in Batman Begins, "Well, Jimbo, you don't take the taste... makes us guys nervous." Perhaps Johnson's not on the take, he won't take 'the taste' so they don't know what to make of him or how to control him. - Trending Politics Email Newsletter Editor, Matt Holloway | | 'CRY MORE': Gaetz TORCHES Journalist Who Attacked Mike Johnson For Being Middle-Class
| | Newly minted House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) is now being attacked by liberal media outlets for not profiting off his seven years in Congress, and Congressman Matt Gaetz (R-FL) is coming to his defense. The Florida Republican excoriated a Daily Beast journalist for smugly noting that Speaker Johnson has a modest mortgage and "doesn't have any retirement savings, own a single stock, or have any assets at all. He has less than $5,000 in his bank account." Matt Fuller, the Beast's Washington, D.C. correspondent, linked to a story exploring Johnson's disclosures which calls his financial position "extraordinarily precarious." "The Daily Beast is furious that @SpeakerJohnson isn't rich, corrupt or rich from being corrupt," wrote Gaetz on X. "He doesn't have shady business deals. He doesn't trade stocks as a congressman. "Cry more, I guess?" he added with a shrugging emoji. No matter the political party, members of Congress regularly see their net worth increase while in office though they are required to report on every dollar they see during that time. Ethics rules require members like Speaker Johnson to report income, taxes paid, and the holding and trading of stocks. - Excerpts from Trending Politics News, Mark Steffen [FULL STORY] | | Trending Video—BREAKING: Comer Drops Biden BOMBSHELL, Uncovers Chinese Money Laundering Trail
