Most people wait 7 years...

Hi there,

That's the average. 7 years between when someone first notices their hearing is going and when they actually do something about it.

7 years of missing conversations.
7 years of asking people to repeat themselves.
7 years of turning up the TV too loud and pretending everything's fine.

Why do people wait so long? Because they think it's not bad enough yet. They tell themselves they'll deal with it when it gets worse.

But here's the problem with that logic: your brain is adapting to hearing less.

Every month you wait, your brain gets worse at processing sound. The neural pathways responsible for hearing start to weaken from lack of use.

So when you finally do get hearing aids after 7 years, it takes longer to adjust. Your brain has to relearn how to process all that sound it's been missing.

The people who get hearing aids early? They adjust in days.

The people who wait years? It can take months.

You're not doing yourself any favors by waiting. You're just making it harder.
