Most people think flexibility is the key to feeling loose and agile, but here's the truth: mobility is what you're actually after. Flexibility is simply the ability of a muscle to stretch and lengthen, which might let you bend a little further.
But without the strength and control to support those movements, flexibility is like a car with a fast engine but no brakes—it's useless without the power to control it.
Mobility, on the other hand, is the full package. It combines flexibility with the strength and coordination needed to actively and safely move your joints through their entire range of motion. So while flexibility helps you stretch, mobility is what allows you to bend, twist, and move through your day-to-day life with ease and confidence.
It's the difference between being able to touch your toes and being able to squat, lift, and move without pain or discomfort. What you really want is the freedom to move well, not just stretch far!
