Making change, being unstoppable and experiencing success is not easy, and when the going gets tough, one of the things you can do to build mental toughness is to make use of a mantra. Here's a few of my favorites: "Looking good. Feeling good. I should be in Hollywood." "Longer I go, stronger I get." "Obstacles make me stronger." What's your mantra? Encouragement: Feeling overwhelmed by a goal, responsibilities or the like. Shrink the course. Need to write a 10-page paper? Start with 500 words. Want to lose 20 pounds? Aim for 1 – 2 pounds in the next 2 weeks. Have a goal of running a mile? Make it to the next stop sign. Small wins accumulate and lead to great achievements. |
